We encourage good character development amongst our pupils and teach them the principles of self improvement in order for them to lead fulfilling lives themselves and to make the world better for others.
Character traits such as honesty, enthusiasm, courage, open-mindedness match our school values and are taught specifically through assemblies, collective worship and class lessons. The children are reminded to put these into action as they play and learn with each other.
Pupils nominate their peers for a special weekly award if they see them demonstrating good character. These pupils are then displayed on the Harris Tree in the entrance hall.
Character-building activities are planned for all classes including leading collective worship, drama and concerts.
